Supporting the Community

Seasonal Soul Home is an interior design studio, led by Rhian Jones. We love to support our clients, customers and our community where we can do.

This Summer, Rhian met the team at the Sue Ryder Hospice in Leckhampton for the first time. It was lovely to visit and see the difference made there. So much so, that we wondered how we could support.

As a better designer than fundraiser, Rhian has started to redesign a clinical, unused room at the Sue Ryder Day Centre. It has the potential to become a special, supportive space for all the Carers to share on site. They currently have nowhere to take their well-earned break.

With no current budget, fundraising, kind donations and hands on help will be needed to make this project happen. It will be so exciting to see what difference we can all make together.

There's Room for Calm

It's no secret, the space is rarely used and right now it looks like this....it's become a bit of a temporary holding area for unused furniture! We're going to look at the layout and storage requirements in the space, to create an uncluttered, calmer environment.

Room for Comfort

One thing that is clear, is the need for improved seating and the flow of furniture. At the moment it feels quite like a waiting room and uncomfortable one at that! Whilst we will need to keep in mind some regulation and practicality, we hope to create a much cosier feel.

And room for Colour!

The room is blessed with some lovely wall space....perfect we think for a pop of colour or a spot of artwork perhaps. Whilst the shape of the room can probably take a fair amount, we might need to be mindful of the user experience, to get that balance of expression and escapism just right. What do you think?

So where are we?

We've started to engage with the Carers at the Daycentre and we're almost there with the design brief for the room. If you're a Carer or work in the Care Sector and would like to share your thoughts, you can help too by completing our survey below.
